GE HealthCare has announced an AI-enabled foetal ultrasound collaboration with Diagnoly, a deeptech company known for prenatal screening.
The agreement aims to expedite the integration of Diagnoly’s Fetoly platform with GE HealthCare’s Voluson women’s health ultrasound systems.
Fetoly is a real-time AI solution that provides comprehensive, standardised foetal ultrasound examinations in accordance with International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG) guidelines.
The technology supports clinicians by delivering AI-powered diagnostic support for foetal heart and brain analysis while verifying examination completeness and quality criteria continuously throughout the process.
This functionality is expected to enhance the Voluson product portfolio and assist clinicians in delivering optimal patient care.
Fetoly holds the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance and CE marking. The AI application is currently available for free trial on the Voluson Solution Store and other major mobile app platforms.
GE HealthCare women’s health ultrasound general manager Gerald Seifriedsberger said: “AI is redefining what’s possible in healthcare, and GE HealthCare is at the forefront of this movement, as an industry leader bringing AI-powered innovations to clinicians.
“This collaboration with Diagnoly further expands our ability to integrate advanced AI-based screening support into Voluson ultrasound, helping elevate care for women and their babies.”
Diagnoly co-founder and CEO Ivan Voznyuk said: “Obstetric ultrasound remains one of the most powerful, but also complex imaging techniques. As a result, up to 50% of foetal abnormalities remain undetected during pregnancy. At Diagnoly, we believe AI can play a transformative role in making high-quality screening more accurate, accessible and consistent.
“The integration of Fetoly into trusted Voluson ultrasound systems reflects our shared commitment to supporting clinicians in real-time with tools that can help improve maternal and foetal outcomes.”
Earlier this week, GE HealthCare gained simultaneous FDA clearance and European CE marking for Allia Moveo, providing healthcare centres with an imaging system designed to increase procedural flexibility within the interventional suite.
“GE HealthCare and Diagnoly integrate AI solutions for foetal ultrasound” was originally created and published by Medical Device Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
